Pop My Mind Transition Exhibition

The pop My mind transition exhibition was a nominated show selected by the creator of the Pop my mind theme Dannielle Ash “Transition”. The work was selected by the curators and displayed within the gallery setting in Lancaster. The distance did leave  an initial issue that we had to come to terms with however, I was able to send the file over to Danielle and the work was placed within the space. The images taken of the work displayed where great and the space the work was projected on was large enough to enable a strong and powerful projection to be placed onto the surface of the wall. Pop my mind has unlocked a lot of opportunities to me and the work being displayed in Lancaster has opened it up to a new audience and a new way of thinking about the work in general. I received some great feedback about the work from the curator saying that the audience responded well to the rhythms within the projection, and sound. On Reflection however some audience members found the visual imagery trip in nature, maybe considering slowing the visuals down to a much slower pace would reduce this issue from occurring in the future. I do not often show video work on its own, however the nature of the space and my un-abiltity to travel to Lancaster whilst continuing my studies meant that just being able to take part was the best possible outcome for the work overall. The contrast on the projector was not to the standard i would of liked however the imagery is still clear and the contrast remains bright in the space.
