This week has been an interesting and productive one in terms of continuing to improve and develop my ideas ready for the degree show. The work is slowly becoming much more sculptural and material based. The work is moving  from just video and into installation and multimedia works that continue on for my interests in colour, textures, order and the everyday. The work is beginning to consider the materials properties and the necessity, purpose and aims. The notion of fade has been explored heavily considering the effects the work has on the sender and receiver( The Artist and the Viewer) exploring the physical reality of the object itself.  Through artist reasereach into Jessica Stockholders work I have began to question the works sense of Pleasure and Struggle and how personal reactions, life experience shape the works perspective. Colour ,shape and form are pleasurable entities to observe, they encapture a space and change the way we view the world, our environment . Raising even larger questions of ,” What Is beautiful” and “How can we define the beauty of an object”. Beauty is subjective depending on certain factors such as Biology, Fashion, History and Culture. Taste is misinterpreted as Beauty but is affected by very different factors such as Hierarchy, Class and Socialisation. This week has focused heavily on trying to understand this principal and put it into practice. Writing contextually on this notion to enforce my own ideas and concepts for the work.
